STABILIZED PLATFORM SYSTEMS
SURFACE SHIP SYSTEMS, RADAR PEDESTALS, VEHICLE SIGHTS AND SPECIAL PRODUCTS
Kollmorgen has designed and manufactured state-of-the-art surface ship optronic sights and other stabilized platforms for a variety of applications.
Installed aboard a US Navy DDG 51 class destroyer in 1992, Kollmorgen's MK46 is the industry standard for electro-optical tracking and fire control systems, with over forty systems delivered. The system, which includes a daylight TV camera, a 3-5 micron thermal imager, an eye-safe laser rangefinder and stabilization accuracy to 30 microradians, has also been installed on the Cruiser USS Yorktown.
Other products designed and produced for defense applications include:
- Surveillance radar pedestals for land or shipboard applications
- Submarine radar modules for housing and control of navigation and/or LPI radars
- Optical sights for a wide variety of armored vehicles
- Custom design electric drive systems including the Towed Array Handling motors and controller and propulsion drives for ASDS
In addition, Calzoni, a subsidiary of Kollmorgen designs and manufactures Minehunter Autopilot and Propulsion Systems , Helicopter Handling Systems, Weapon Handling Systems, and stabilized Launch and Recovery Cranes.
